We are seeking an experienced and driven Facilities and Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance and procurement operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role ensures all industrial equipment and facility systems are maintained at optimal performance to support continuous production. The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, leadership experience, cross-functional communication skills, and a solid background in preventive maintenance, procurement, and industrial safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, coach, and lead a team of industrial mechanics and facilities staff with a focus on performance, accountability, and development.
  • Allocate tasks based on skill sets, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of maintenance duties.
  • Foster a safety-first culture and encourage continuous improvement.
  • Identify and develop high-potential employees for future leadership roles.
  • Develop and deliver hands-on training programs to ensure maintenance staff can safely and effectively troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment.
  • Act as a technical mentor, transferring mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge to less experienced team members to build a cross-trained and self-sufficient department.

Maintenance Operations

  • Oversee daily preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery, building systems, and production support equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Minimize downtime by ensuring rapid response to breakdowns and efficient root cause analysis.
  • Lead implementation of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems.

Procurement & Inventory

  • Manage procurement of parts, materials, and equipment; work with vendors to source quality products at competitive prices.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
  • Track maintenance costs and budget expenditures; identify cost-saving opportunities.

Project & Facility Management

  • Plan and manage maintenance and facility improvement projects to completion, including capital improvements.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate daily with the Production Manager to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
  • Attend daily production meetings and provide updates on maintenance priorities and concerns.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration with Engineering, Safety, and Quality departments.

Compliance, Documentation & Training

  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence to OSHA and internal safety policies.
  • Keep detailed maintenance logs and records of inspections, repairs, and improvements.
  • Create training materials and job aids to support standardized procedures and reduce knowledge gaps across shifts.
  • Provide cross-training to production and maintenance staff on proper equipment usage and safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years in industrial maintenance, with 3+ years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of industrial machinery, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor employees, and build effective maintenance departments.
  • Training & Mentorship: Proven ability to coach, train, and transfer technical skills to maintenance staff to ensure a capable and flexible team.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiar with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S and continuous improvement.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across all departments.
  • Certifications: OSHA certification and technical training in mechanical or electrical systems a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders throughout the day.
  • Willingness to respond to emergency maintenance calls during off-hours as needed.

Compensation

Pay: $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 10-12 hours shift
  • This is a salaried position starting at 5:30am until complete. Monday and Friday. As needed Saturday.
