Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator operates in sales environment supporting the sales and warehouse team. The role is required to operate within strict freight cost guidelines while meeting the needs of the customer. This position monitors all inbound containers, coordinates outbound freight to customers, and monitors all associated charges. To be successful in this role an individual must be very organized, proactive and be a strong communicator.
Outbound
· Coordinate all outbound LTL and FTL freight to customers, domestic and export; provide rates to sales team.
· Role is responsible for researching freight cost savings and possible revenue streams associated to freight.
· Act as liaison with clients, couriers, warehouse and sales team.
· Support inventory planning and shipping schedules; inventory balancing across consignment warehouses.
· Business reporting as required for assigned responsibilities and accounts.
· Supports all daily sales activities within department including answering phones and providing customer support, if needed.
Inbound
· Coordinate containers from overseas factories; ISF, BOL and all import / export documents and work with customs broker to effectively and timely cargo clearance.
· Review the correct HTS classification of the products and duties involved thereof.
· Maintaining accurate logs of all inbound containers; proactive communication to all associated parties.
· Act as liaison with clients, couriers, warehouse and sales team.
· Work closely to review any legitimate arrival fees, duties, handling charges are paid in a timely manner and dispute unauthorized charges.
· Ensure incoming containers are pulled out within the free days from the port and drayage to the PLH or customer warehouse at cost effective.
· Ensure that quality assurance checks are completed and maintained with every shipment and provide the manager with the receiving report.
· Detailed review and consistent monitoring of all charges including storages related to inbound containers is essential; closely monitor containers pulled for customs inspection
· Business reporting as required for assigned responsibilities and accounts.
Education and Qualifications:
· College/ Associate degree desired, with a Transportation or Logistics Degree preferred.
· Minimum 3-5 years’ experience required.
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
· Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills; QuickBooks & warehouse management software experience preferred
· Knowledge of Freight portal like Ims, Tms, Magaya , Elefast software is bonus to be efficient and organized.
· Professional attitude with a high level of integrity is required
· The candidate should be motivated, self driven, multi tasking, detail-oriented, customer focused, organized, able to handle high pressured situations and good negotiation skill with trucking, NVOCC and freight forwarder.
