JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join a well respected medical device manufacturer in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will have experience with manual and CNC lathes and mills, including Okuma or Hardinge machines. They should be proficient in editing G and M code and have a strong attention to detail.

• Compensation: $34-$36/hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
• Monday - Friday
• 6:00AM - 2:30PM (+ overtime)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines to produce precision parts used in manufacturing processes.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
• Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.
• Edit G and M code to optimize machine performance.
• Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.
• Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area.
• Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

• Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
• Experience with machine lathe (preferably Harding or Ocuma), manual lathes, and mills.
• QuickLink or MasterCam programming preferred; editing G and M code required.
• Ability to measure using calipers and other precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/technical school training and apprenticeship required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods of standing and bending required.
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds at a time.
