JOB SUMMARY
The Sales & Range Associate is responsible for providing knowledgeable, courteous service to customers in both the retail firearms department and the shooting range. This role includes assisting customers with firearm and accessory sales, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, maintaining a safe and welcoming range environment, and delivering excellent customer experiences.
COMPENSATION - $14.50/hr.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Greet customers, assess needs, and provide recommendations on firearms, ammunition, and accessories.
- Process sales transactions in compliance with ATF regulations, including completing Form 4473 and background checks accurately.
- Educate customers on firearm operation, safety, and storage best practices.
- Monitor shooting range activity to ensure safety rules and procedures are consistently followed.
- Conduct range check-ins, assign lanes, and provide safety equipment such as eye and ear protection.
- Perform routine range maintenance, target replacement, and basic cleaning to provide a safe and professional environment.
- Assist with firearm rentals, range memberships, and special events.
- Resolve customer questions or issues promptly and professionally.
- Stay up to date on product knowledge, firearms trends, and compliance requirements.
- Support inventory management including receiving, stocking, and labeling products.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure retail and range area.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior retail, customer service, or firearms industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of firearms, ammunition, and shooting sports.
- Ability to understand and comply with ATF, federal, state, and local firearm laws.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to firearm safety and professional conduct at all times.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
REQUIREMENTS
- Pass a Standard background check
- Pass a drug test.
- Capable of operating POS data entry
- Possess rudimentary computer skills
CERTIFICATIONS (Preferred but not required)
- NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) or equivalent safety certification.
- Basic First Aid/CPR.
WORK SCHEDULE
- 10:00AM - 7:00PM (Mon - Fri)
- 12:00PM - 6:00PM (Sun)
- Full-time or part-time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
