JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Mechanic position is a highly critical position responsible for maintaining equipment used for production or to generate electricity within the plant. Assigned personnel will be required to implement and maintain electrical equipment while providing routine repairs on electrical components, motors, and plant equipment to ensure production success. Personnel will be required to ensure building up keep and complete various projects to maintain such.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Working knowledge/understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, distribution control, fluidic, and electrical systems/components and operation
- Perform equipment overhauling, including rebuilding and fabrication as needed ensuring equipment design and construction meets cGMP requirements and applicable regulations
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems
- Replaces fuses, light bulbs, circuit breakers, electric switches, and other electrical equipment following electrical specifications
- Ensure a safe and sanitary work environment at all times
- Participate in execution of equipment installation qualifications
- Diagnosing electrical problems and malfunctions and taking corrective action
- Utilize tools and chemical compounds in accordance with applicable regulations such as, food grade lubrication for equipment
- Diagnosing electrical problems and malfunctions and taking corrective action
- Using precision instrumentation such as voltmeter, ammeter, megger, wattmeter
- Troubleshoot basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems
- Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of welding safety, welding equipment, proper selection of type, wire, settings, and material preparation
- Ensure a safe and sanitary work environment at all times
- Escort any contract employees assisting with mechanical systems or repairs
- Must follow company's food safety, operational, and food defense guidelines
- Maintain, conduct, and uphold audit readiness at all times
- Complete annual food defense training and ensure food safety practices when entering production area
- Perform and document Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (Pd.M.) to increase equipment reliability and up-time
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or state equivalent, minimum of two years related trade schooling
- 2-3 years of experience working in facilities or project management
- Licensed industrial electrician, preferred
- Working knowledge of all current and voltage characteristics
- Strong knowledge of troubleshooting PLC's is highly preferred
REQUIREMENTS
- Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- While performing to assigned job, the employee is required to speak, see, and hear clearly.
