PROCUREMENT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY
The Procurement Manager is a highly critical position responsible for overseeing supplier relations and transportation details for a company. The Procurement Manager will handle the procurement of goods and services for a company. Assigned personnel shall manage each part of the supply chain while identifying possible obstacles that may affect productivity
RESPONSIBILITES
- Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business
- Build and maintain positive relationships with supplier and vendors
- Perform industry competitiveness benchmarking
- Analyzes bids for specification compliance, prices, delivery commitments and past performance
- Manage tendering process, evaluation of submissions and selection of suppliers
- Receives and processes simple to complex purchase requests
- Timely processing and execution of orders
- Analyze and manage appropriate inventory levels using forecasts and historical demand information
- Negotiate supply and distribution agreements
- Analyze and secure material availability by escalating and expediting the shortages
- Review existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Approve purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services
- Must follow company's food safety, operational, and food defense guidelines
- Complete annual food defense training and ensure food safety practices when entering production area
- Adhere to applicable cGMP regulation and standards while conducting work impacting GMP areas and documentation
- Maintain, conduct, and uphold audit readiness at all times
- Preparing procurement reports
- Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements
- Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business
- Communicate with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of buyer and negotiation practices
- Experience in standard purchasing and procurement regulations, policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to assess processes and procedures for possible efficiencies
- 3-5 years of purchasing and supplier management experience
- In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
- Proficient Data Entry
- Working experience in Procurement in manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
REQUIREMENTS
- This position is active and requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Required to speak, see, and hear clearly.
